Football News Letter Sunday October 7th

NEWSLETTER Sunday 7th October 2007

Hello, good morning and welcome to another Super Sunday at the Hindley Juniors mini league.

First a reminder for all the team managers that it is the Managers’ Meeting tonight (7.30pm in the Clubhouse) and then for all new managers (that is, all managers who haven’t yet completed it), we have the Managers Induction Course next Sunday (also at 7.30pm in the clubhouse).

Can we congratulate all the managers (and a number of parents) who attended the “Player Centered Learning” seminar run by Bolton Wanderers Academy Manager, Ian Bateman. I am sure all will agree it was yet another excellent delivery and is another “building block” in our coach education.

Touchline Behaviour

We have had reports from different sources, including one from Peter Drinkwater, the club’s child protection officer that sets of parents of two or three teams are behaving in a “less than acceptable” manner. Examples quoted are of being overly competitive, overly loud, encroaching the playing area and of being critical towards referees.

At this early stage of the season, we would just draw everyone’s attention to this and ask you to remember our mini league is NOT a competitive league; it IS a place where every player is encouraged to enjoy his/her football in a friendly and safe environment; that referees are there to help this process and MUST ALWAYS be supported.

We understand that at this early stage of the season there are many new parents and one or two new managers, and we are sure you will put things right now this has been brought to your attention.

Halloween Night Do’s

We have organized do’s for Saturday 27th and for Halloween Night itself, Tuesday 31st October.

Get your spooky gear out and see if you can “out do” Mark Howlett and Geoff Lea this year……………………..
