Hindley Juniors Football News Letter Sunday 28th September 2008

In this Newsletter… Club AGM & Managers Meeting Next Sunday… Adverts out for more players / teams for the Mini League… New Managers & Parents Induction Night… QUIZ NIGHTS to be relaunched… Next Comedy Night 15 November… Work on the Hill & drainage…

Hello, Good Morning & Welcome to another Super Sunday in the Hindley Juniors Mini League. We’ve finally had a bit of decent weather this last couple of weeks, and aren’t the pitches looking superb?

We have managed to make a start on moving “the hill” (believe it or not, over 400 tonnes were transported away), and we have at least created an area to get a main drain re-established around the car park. If we can get this done, it will have a massive impact on the Midi Pitch and to a lesser extent, improve the Minis. As a minimum, we need a digger for a day, plus stone and sand to “back fill” the drain. If anyone can help in any way, please come forward and let us know.

The Mini League is a little “shy” of teams in both the age groups. Ideally we would like 8 teams in each age group, and we have put an ad in the local reporter for more players. We also have printed a couple of thousand adverts for schools (we have already done the Hindley + Hindley Green schools) but if you live in the Platt Bridge, Abram, Westhoughton, Atherton, Leigh or Wigan areas & can take some forms into schools, please come forward today!

Club A.G.M. & Managers Meeting is NEXT SUNDAY, starting 7pm. All teams must have a representative, so if for any reason, the Manager cannot attend, please make sure that a representative attends! We will then be looking to hold an Induction Course for all Managers (not just new ones) which will include a large section on the FA Respect campaign & how it affects all of us in Children’s football, before the end of October. Parents are encouraged to attend (the date will be agreed at next week’s meeting).
We will then be looking to get the FA Level 1 course set up for early November.

The popular QUIZ NIGHTS are to be started again on Fridays, starting Friday 10th October. Entry is free, whilst there are prizes for the winners plus free drinks to be won by all! Bring the kids & enjoy a friendly family atmosphere while supporting the Club!

And finally, for those of you who missed the fantastic Comedy Night last week, make a note that the next one is on Saturday 15th November. Tickets will be available from next week (courtesy of Bev Medhurst, after she reads this Newsletter!) priced at £7.

And really finally,

Please remember this is a voluntary organisation & if any of you can help with any of the above – or anything else – please come forward! We are all here for your kids!
