We all have tale to tell so make sure you get to your presentation and reflect with the friends you've made on another great season at Hindley Juniors.

Hindley Juniors
AFC Hindley Juniors
- AFC Hindley Juniors is an FA Charter Standard Community Club
- It comprises 2 Senior Teams, 16 Youth Teams (including 3 female teams) 7 Mini-Soccer Teams (inc 1 female) and a mini-league of 24 mixed ability and mixed sex teams. The mini league also caters for children with disabilities.
- That’s 49 teams total this year, plus a “Reception Class” of around 30 4 and 5 year olds, receiving an intro to the game, so well over 600 players from 4 to open age,
- We were one of the first 9 clubs in Lancashire to achieve Community Club Status in 2003
- In 2000, we were awarded Sport England’s VIP Award as the best run voluntary sports organization (all sports not just football) in the North of England
- Club was formed in May 1991. Originally intended to run as a “Summer Coaching School” for 10 weeks
When we came to the end of the 10 weeks, 64 kids whom had joined during the summer had nowhere to go.. So HIndley Juniors was formalized into a Club and Mini Soccer League was formed to accommodate 8 mini teams - We were playing mini soccer long before any FA directives on this and “unknowingly” using the Dutch Club model
- By 1993 we had grown to nearly 300 players and 26 teams, including our first “representative” team
- In 94 we realized facilities would be the csf to the clubs long term progression & made 1st application for 25 year lease on our facilities
- It took 5 years of persuasion and negotiation and the intervention of LFA (whose support & guidance has been vital) to get the lease in reality
- In 1999 we were awarded the lease and a £60k Sport England grant to develop top quality playing surfaces (work completed in 2002)
- Our FF bid for £425630 was frustrated from 1999 to 2004 for a number of political, technical and – most costly – environmental issues
- FF grant awarded 2004 and work completed (clubhouse, car park, 6 changing rooms) June 06
- THIS IS THE START!
- Next 5 year Development Plan highly focused on
- 1st team to NWCL (csf = stadium facilities + scaling youths / seniors)
- Continuous Improvement in Youth and Minis = Coach Ed & Development, Parent Ed, with continued LFA guidance & support + improving the BWFC link and other Experts in fields. Migration to 9 v 9 at U11 to U13 (facilities again being key) and equivalent development of Girls football to match historic on lads

September 2007 News Letter
SEASON 2007/8 OPENING NEWSLETTER Sunday 2/9/07Hello, good morning and welcome to the Hindley Juniors Mini League as we get set to start the new
season 2007/8.
For the newcomers amongst you, let me start by briefly introducing the club to you (and by the way,
you can learn a lot more about the organisation by attending the Parents Introduction Evenings in
October, or by reading the Handbook, or at the website at www.hindleyjuniors.com )…….
Hindley Juniors is a FA Charter Standard Community Club – there are only 15 clubs in
Lancashire and less than 100 in England who have such accreditation (that’s less than 100 out of
about 500,000 Clubs!) You do not get awarded Community Club status without meeting very
stringent criteria on every aspect on which the club is run.
The most important of these criteria include:
Child Protection – Every one of our coaches and volunteers is “police cleared” through the Criminal Records Bureau via Football Association.
Qualified Coaches – All of our coaches are required to complete the FA Level 1 Coaching course, which includes Child Protection and Emergency First Aid as well as coaching topics; and a number have taken the Level 2 qualification.
The club provides further education for all the coaches, involving BWFC, the LFA and Skilwise Sports each year and most coaches give up their time to attend.
Link with Bolton Wanderers – the club is now a partner of Bolton Wanderers and is officially a part of the BWFC Academy. This is not just an honour for the club (there are just 6 junior clubs which have that link) but a major practical benefit for the coaches. Most importantly, the children will benefit from the quality advice and education we will get from the professionals on every aspect from coaching to psychology to diet and nutrition. BWFC scouts watch our games regularly and there are currently 7 players from our mini league “signed up” with BWFC .
Football For All – Hindley Juniors is dedicated to providing football for all –regardless of ability, disability, sex, race, colour, creed or any other factor. Our mini leagues are “balanced” and our ethos, rules and codes are aimed at ensuring literally every player can enjoy and express them self, gain confidence playing as a member of a team and socialise with their peers.
Football for Life – the club has over 600 players on the books! These range from children as young as 4 in the Reception Class, through the mini soccer section (6 to 10 year olds), to the “youth section” (11 to 16) and “seniors” (U17 to Open Age). Players can join the club at 4 yrs old, play through their infancy, youth and adult life, pack in playing at (say) 40 and then do their FA Level 1 and become a coach! I don’t think I’ll be around to see some of this years Reception Class take their Level 1s after a successful playing career, but on the other hand, I’m sure it will happen!
A Captive Audience (Sponsor Opportunity)
A Captive AudienceAFC Hindley Juniors is a FA Charter Standard Community Football Club that comprises 49 teams this year plus a reception class introducing 4 and 5 year olds to football. That is over 600 players from age 4 onwards.
We hold up to four Gala Day Competitions throughout the season for the kids from our Mini Soccer Section which is attended by 200 to 300 Children from Hindley and the surrounding areas these kids bring Parents, family’s and friends and at some point in the day their attentions are brought to the club house and the Big Screen Display
The competitions are run on a round robin league basis each result being recorded on a computer database and the league tables being displayed automatically via big screen in the club house (eat your heart out Sky Sports) well as I am sure you can see the kids love this and so do the parents probably even more so, and they all make there way into the club house to see how their team is doing and as the day goes on the more interest it generates
Well there can be four league tables being displayed in any one competition and these league tables are automatically displayed in a timed loop and in between each league table display you can have your advert ensuring that probably everyone at Hindley Juniors on that Day will have seen your advert
So get in early and reserve your Gala Day Sponsorship
Opening Football Gala News Letter
NEWSLETTER – OPENING GALA DAY Sunday 9/9/07Hello good morning and welcome to the Opening Day of the new season 2007/8. To celebrate this, we kick off with the “Opening Gala” Competition, comprising Round Robin matches (league tables will be continually updated throughout the day and displayed in the clubhouse) In the U8s, the top 4 teams will then qualify for the Cup Semi Finals, whilst the next 4 qualify for the Plate Semi Finals.
In the U 10s, the top 2 in the A section and the top 2 in the B section qualify for the Cup semis and the 3rd and 4th in each group qualify for the Plate.
Good luck to all the teams, and most importantly, let’s all enjoy a cracking day!
BOLTON WANDERERS COACH EDUCATION
The Bolton Coaches will be here again on Monday 24th to give a practical seminar on “Player Centred Coaching”. It will start at 6pm with the coaches working with players from our club and then move inside for a Q & A session for another half hour or so.
PLEASE NOTE EVERYBODY IS WELCOME!
You do not have to be a coach to benefit from this – mums and dads can learn a lot too!
IN THE JIM KENYON CLUB
LIVE BAND “Hard to Handle” NEXT FRIDAY in the Jim Kenyon Club
Come and join us in the Clubhouse next Friday (7 til late) and enjoy the hugely popular band and disco that we’ve got booked. Tickets are on sale at just £5 each.
JAMIE SUTHERLAND’s “GLOBE COMEDY NIGHT” is coming to the Jim Kenyon Club on Saturday 13th October, and this one is sure to be a sell out at £7 per ticket
Why not come along, have a great night out and help raise a much needed few bob towards the costs of running the club! (Because it does take money to provide the top facilities we have here at Hindley Juniors – for example, I think you’ll agree the pitches are in top shape, and to keep them at their best through the winter, we need to find around £3000 to vertidrain and sand them in October. If we cant find the money for this then the pitches will not be as good through the winter. Every little helps towards it – and having a great night out is surely a painless way of contributing your bit?)
……………………………………………………………………
And finally, Managers please don’t forget it’s the AGM next Sunday (7pm start) There are proposed rule changes, so be there to vote on them!
And really finally…………
LITTER…….. We have got off to a real bad start with litter being strewn all over the field. For today, each manager has been given a bin liner – please pick up any litter you see and drop it in there
